Mersea Island Food, Drink and Leisure Festival 2012

Black Diamond Accordions are sponsoring the Acoustic Tent on the lower lawn at this year's Mersea Island Food, Drink & Leisure Festival at the Mersea Vineyard on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June.

The Acoustic Tent will offer two day-long programmes of widely varied music, featuring local musicians, including Flat Mountain Family, the JBC Band, Jack Howe, Josh Wilson, Ellie Gamble, Rhonda Merrick, Crab & Winkle and the Coast Inn Players.

At 1.00 on both days we'll be running a Squeezebox Workshop, at which you can hear Black Diamond instruments (and other squeezeboxes) being played. Find out how accordions and melodeons work, what kinds of music you can play on them and - most importantly -  have a go on a squeezebox yourself.

At 2.30 pm each day, we'll be attempting to re-create a 'pub session' for half an hour, so whether you've every played at a session before or not, please come along with your instrument/s - and your family and friends - and join in the fun.

Admission and parking are completely free and the festival offers two fantastic days out for all the family.
